About

Durban is a holiday maker's haven, as well as a very popular destination for the business man. With everything durban has to offer, including major luxury beach front hotels, Indian cuisine and great water sports activities, it's often referred to as “Miami Beach”. The South African version, of course.

Durban forms the core of Kwa Zulu Natal's business center, and is also the capital city of Kwa Zulu Natal. The city has a major port where huge ships can dock as well as luxury hotels for the business traveler. The port is one of the 10 largest in the world, and the busiest sea port in South Africa.

The central business district of Durban is within easy reach of the port, hotels and suburbs. The city is the major gateway to the continent of Africa, and also the busiest port on the African continent. The city of Durban possesses an International Convention Center which can cater for up to five thousand people at a time. An ideal place to mix business and pleasure.

Not only that, but the Durban airport is an international airport, providing flights to anywhere in the world, and is only 10 minutes away from Durban city center.

Not only is Durban popular for it's business facilities, but the city is also popular for it's amazing sporting paradise and tourist haven. Water sports are conducted year round with great sport types such as body boarding, sailing, scuba diving and surfing. Rugby, cricket and soccer is also very popular in Durban, and one can often relax at the Kings Park stadium for a major sporting event.

The beaches in Durban have soft sand, palm trees and the lovely warm water of the Indian Ocean. One can enjoy the beach year round, due to the wonderful warm water temperatures, rarely dropping below 17 degrees celcius, even in winter time. Shark nets have been put in place to prevent shark attacks, and lifeguards patrol the beaches from sunup to sundown. Beaches normally have shower facilities where one can wash of the salty sea water and change.

The beach front also has a lot of Ricksha's (South African - Indian - man pulled "taxis") beautifully decorated and very interesting to experience.

Durban contains a wide selection of Restaurants, both on the beach front and further in from the sea. Dining is a fun activity on a rainy day, when one can relax in the comfort of a restaurant instead of braving it out in the stormy seas! Some Indian cuisine is a must taste!
